We’re Launching The Edisco.

The Edisco will serve as the hub for news, analysis, articles and updates from the movement for K-12 education justice.

Saphron Initiative is proud to announce the launch of The Edisco, a groundbreaking student-led publication aimed at advancing equity and inclusivity in education. The publication, an affiliate of Saphron Initiative, will platform students from across the nation — along with select subject matter experts — to empower youth in discussing a wide range of elements impacting students in the education system today.

"At Saphron Initiative, we believe in the power of student agency and grassroots mobilization to effectuate positive change," said Brynn Lee, Editor-in-Chief. "The Edisco embodies our mission to empower students as catalysts for educational justice, providing a space for their voices to be heard and their ideas to be amplified."

Led by a diverse team of student editors and writers from across the country, The Edisco covers a wide range of topics, including education policy, student activism, school culture, and more. Through insightful analyses, thought-provoking essays, and innovative solutions, The Edisco seeks to inspire dialogue, foster collaboration, and promote positive change within the education community.

The launch of The Edisco comes at a critical juncture, as students across the nation continue to grapple with systemic inequities in education exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through collaborative efforts with educators, policymakers, and community leaders, The Edisco seeks to address these challenges head-on and advocate for policies that promote fairness, opportunity, and justice for all students.

The Edisco will be spearheaded by San Diego-based advocacy organizer Brynn Lee as incoming Editor-in-Chief. With a background in grassroots organizing and a deep commitment to social justice, Lee is poised to lead The Edisco to new heights as it amplifies the voices of students across the nation.
